Aileen Castro

Aileen Castro a third year as a Biology-physiology student, has been a member in PHPSA since spring 2013.

She has had the opportunity to try different volunteering opportunities such as being a member at the After School Education & Safety Program (ASES) in San Leandro for a year, helping students from different ages that ranged from kindergarten to ninth grade. This not only helped her with her patience and understanding skills but it also widen her ability to deal with delicate situations. She has fundraised for one of San Francisco’s clinics, Clinica Martin Baro, located in the Mission District where low-income families are able to receive care from physicians at low cost. Aileenhas also been a volunteer for the Sutter Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, where she was able to discharge patients by wheelchair and deliver specimen to the lab. She received a lot of clinical experience by doing so, and was able to determine that health care is the right career path for her.

In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family, especially the surroundings of her home. She also loves to read, principally Paulo Coelho books, has read all except one.
