Jenna Hamilton

Jenna has been a member of PHPSA since fall of 2013 and is currently a junior biology major at SFSU. She plans to follow SF State with medical school in the hopes of becoming a pediatric surgeon.

As the grandchild of migrant farm workers, Jenna understands the importance of hard work, higher education and the support of family. Her father is a paramedic for the city of Los Angeles and she was exposed to the experience of a "first responder" early on in her childhood. Jenna's hours are filled with schoolwork, clubs and volunteering.

Giving back to the community is an important part of her life. Jenna recently became one of the PR coordinators of PHPSA in fall of 2013. Her other clubs include AMSA, American Medical Student Association and Salud. In addition, she spends time volunteering for the Maxine Hall Health Center, and the YCC Sat Training Class.

If she has any spare time, Jenna occasionally tries her hand at cooking (sometimes even successfully); hunkers down with an episode of "True Blood," or travels with her parents. This year she hopes "NOT" to put her medical knowledge to the test when she and her sister run with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
