President :

  • Plan, organize, oversee, and facilitate monthly meetings

  • Delegate responsibilities: ensure all officers are assigned a task or placed on a committee and participate in the activities and work of the organization

  • Main point person in organizing, delegating duties, and planning for counseling graduation ceremony

  • Register CSA with SICC annually and ensure that all organization registration requirements are fulfilled (deadlines usually in September)

  • Request room reservations through SICC and/or Meeting Room Services at Cesar Chavez Student Center for meetings and other CSA events

  • Register with Patelco campus bank; is one of two officially designated account holders

  • Work closely with Vice President to recruit leadership team for upcoming year

  • Main liaison with Dept. of Counseling Chair, CSA advisor, and faculty.

  • Attend SICC Leadership Orientation in the summer and Leadership Symposium in the fall

 

Vice President:

  • Work closely with President on monthly meetings

  • Plan, organize, oversee and facilitate at least 4 monthly meetings academic year

  • Substitute for president at monthly meetings and events  if president is absent or at the president’s request

  • Request room reservations through SICC and/or Meeting Room Services at Cesar Chavez Student Center for meetings and other CSA events in person on the first day of room reservations.

  • Main point person for organizing, delegating duties, and planning Symposium

  • Assist in recruiting leadership team for next academic year

  • Attend SICC Leadership Orientation in the summer and Leadership Symposium in the fall

 

Treasurer:

  • Register with SICC as treasurer

  • Request funding by attending ASI meetings for funding proposal requests

  • Work closely with President to balance budget; participate in budget report-outs at meetings as necessary

  • Register with Patelco as one of two officially designated account holders; ensure that all treasury materials needed are fulfilled

  • Work closely with Webmaster Advisor to determine best methods of electronic payment/event systems

  • Assist Fundraiser coordinator(s) with event expenses

  • Attend SICC Leadership Orientation in the summer and/or  Leadership Symposium in the fall, but must attend at least one.

  • Process reimbursement requests from CSA officers and volunteers

  • Update CSA officers on CSA finances at each monthly meeting

 

Communications & Publicity Chair:

  • Regularly check CSA email account  and respond consistently and professionally

  • Direct specific emails to correct person of contact

  • Compose and send emails to Counseling Listserv

  • Update CSA bulletin board outside Counseling Office with current officers

  • Coordinate with Webmaster on advertising on CSA Facebook and LinkedIn accounts

  • Announce and promote CSA events using bulletin boards on campus (including electronic ones in One Stop & Cesar Chavez Student Center), networking with event’s intended

  • Email and reach out to other graduate campuses for CSA event publicity

  • Update California Counseling Programs Google Doc List for publicity

 

Membership Coordinator:

  • Main point of contact for students interested in joining CSA

  • Ensure that CSA brochure is up-to-date and in supply & making sure CSA brochures are in the CSA bulletin.

  • Collaborate with Social Chair(s) for each semester’s Welcome Gatherings and other recruitment events

  • Update Excel spreadsheet of members (google doc) & work closely with Historian to keep spreadsheet updated.

  • Distribute membership brochures

  • Tabling: and collect payments at all CSA events

 

Social Chair :

  • Plan & Organize with Membership Chair for Welcome event in Fall

  • Plan & Organize Return event in Spring

  • Create, plan, and organize social events at least 1 per semester

 

Historian :

  • Record keeper

    • Take careful notes at CSA officer  meetings and email meeting notes to all officers within 3 business days; make notes available on GoogleDocs.

    • Notes should include officers in attendance, duties assigned, due dates, etc.

  • Photograph/videotape CSA events and  manage photographers at large events.

  • Ensure that CSA activities and timeline of CSA events are recorded for CSA history/records

  • Maintain inventory list for supply cabinet

  • Create CSA flyers for events/workshops. ( Communicate with event leaders about flyer description and theme for flyers)

  • Create and maintain electronic files for historical records (google doc, drop box, etc)

 

Webmaster/Technology Advisor:

  • Update & manage CSA website & Facebook such as (accepting counseling department students’ and alumni’s requests to join our group)

  • Research, recommend, and implement technology to benefit CSA (e.g. electronic payment systems, Eventbrite, etc)

  • OrgSync administrator: utilize and update CSA OrgSync account to promote CSA (work with Pres and V-Pres to figure out OrgSync web page)

  • Create CSA events that require attendance purchases on Eventbrite

  • Coordinate with Communication Chair on advertising on CSA Facebook, CSA LinkedIn and CSA Orgsync.

  • Promote CSA activities and events in your prospective classes throughout the semester.


Fundraising Coordinator:

  • Create fundraising opportunities for CSA and CSA events

  • Conducts outreach to establish fundraising opportunities and events

    • Target food vendors to sponsor events.

  • Coordinate with Graduation and Symposium leaders for getting supplies donated to reduce expenses for events
  • Promote CSA activities and events in your prospective classes throughout the semester.

 

Faculty Liaison: 

  • Attend faculty meetings & email CSA officers with meeting notes.

  • Speak on behalf of CSA at meetings if asked to do so

  • Upload meeting notes in Google Doc

  • Inform faculty and/or CSA Advisor on CSA events and business

  • Provide student perspective to faculty when asked

  • Work with faculty when asked for special projects

  • Communicate with CSA at monthly meetings as to what faculty is working on.
